Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: This is pretty self-explanatory but it’s important to remind yourself of this each and every day and especially when things seem tough. Don’t give up (unless as we’ve discussed there is a better direction in which to go), don’t stop but don’t overextend yourself. Back off, take a deep breath and relax a bit. Ask yourself if you’re doing your best. If the answer is yes, then just keep going and don’t sweat it. No need to panic. Just put one foot after the other and once more has become clear as to the proper course of action, implement that new action. Keep repeating and you’ll eventually get where you’re headed.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: What are your dreams? Are they within reach? Sure you may have developed them when you had your eyes closed but once you have them as part of your plan, keep your eyes open and watch everything that happens around you. The realization that good things do occur out of your primary vision may help you discover the very thing that will make your goals materialize. Keep your eyes open and glance to the periphery frequently to see what might be there that might be of use. After doing these journey runs I find myself looking for churches and cemeteries (good places to rest) and water spigots. I don’t need them now (only when on the runs) but my mind is looking for useful things. As you have listed useful items or ideas or people for you to accomplish your goals, your mind will look for them. Make it a game and you’ll be training your mind to pick up all that’s available to you.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: This is such a great quote to live by. It helps get you out of yourself. It also helps you focus on a goal that provides service beyond yourself. When you decide to do something, first think about how it will help others either now or in the future. If you write your goals down, include this variable in all your planning. This applies to everyday activities too. Did you throw something on the sidewalk? What if everyone littered and what if they threw things onto your yard? How would you like that? If you held the door for someone who was coming to the door but wasn’t totally there yet so that you had to wait some? Would that provide a good example for those watching you? Did you return your shopping cart? Everyone always uses that as an example but it’s just one of a kind. There are kids always watching you (and others – don’t get paranoid). If they see many people doing that don’t you think it will sink in more. Kids and others watch your activities. Set a good example in everything you do.
