Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: How do your dreams and regrets measure up against one another? You can always have a dream even if it’s a little one. When you get to my age your dreams aren’t necessarily long term but I can still have them. I have just adjusted things. For example I never even tried to get my books sent through the usual publishing process. Yes I know they probably aren’t good enough but even if they were it takes 18-24 or more months from the time you get accepted by a publisher until publication. I don’t have all that time to work. So I’m fortunate enough to live in an era where there is an alternative. I would definitely have regretted it had I not tried. Same with my attempt to cross the US on foot. I’d wanted to do that for 30 years and I finally tried. I didn’t complete it but had I not tried, I’d have regretted for a very long time. Take an inventory and see how you’re doing in this regard.

Daily Gratitude: How absolutely true this is. If you have one of these three things, you’ll be pretty happy. If you have two, you’ll be very happy. All three? Wow. It will be difficult to get you down. Consider adding these three things to any list of goals you make. Put them at the head of the list, too, so you can see them every time you look at your goal list (and that should be at least every day and preferably more). They are relatively easy to attain but it usually takes some effort to make it a habit. When it says someone to love, it doesn’t mean romantic so don’t allow that to get you down. You can achieve all three of these things.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: I like this because it’s simple and succinctly stated. If you keep at something and don’t let the setbacks keep you back, then you are immune to many things such as criticism and despair. If you believe in your goal and yourself enough, then you can resist just about anything. Look at people in history. The ones who have accomplished great things didn’t do it over night. They worked and learned and worked and learned etc. Others might have condemned them or encouraged them to quit but they didn’t. They kept trying different things and they eventually “won”. Even the rapid creation/development of the covid vaccine, although fast, was only able to be done because of all the previous viral and vaccine research that had been done. So once you have determined your “why”, keep at it and don’t let anything or anyone deter you!
