Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: I agree with this completely. It’s like training for races – the training is what’s the most fun for me. It’s learning about my body and what I already “know” and what I still need to learn. Practicing on hills is a form of learning.

Then it’s even more fun to put that learning process (training) to work during the actual race. And if treated right, the race creates more learning and more fun.

Learning is exciting. When you come across something new, don’t you feel excited? Don’t you want to keep seeing what’s new? Can you feel the enthusiasm and energy building?

Often times taking up something new is a wonderful way to get you out of the doldrums and feeling of boredom in a life.

In your spare time think of some things you’d like to learn but in the past might not have had the time. Can you make some time for it now?

Daily Gratitude: As we continue in our new year, maybe we could consider the unique idea of embracing change? How does that sound? Pretty scary huh?

Maybe if we introduce change into our normal patterns, it won’t be as shocking. This still won’t help the sudden and great change this quote talks about. But it might help in our everyday life. Even if it doesn’t help dealing with the change, it may help accepting it. Those are two different things. You have to be able to accept something before you can deal with it.

Daily Gratitude: Boy could we use more people with first rate intelligence right now if they would do what Fitzgerald advocates.

But let’s look in the mirror first. We can’t point fingers until we examine ourselves. I don’t think i can hold two opposed opinions at the same time right now. Well let me amend that. It’s possible I could do that because after all I’m a Libra and if you’ve ever tried to get a Libra to make a decision you know what I mean.

So maybe I could hold them. Then the question is “so i want to try to hold them at the same time?” And if my honest answer is “no”, then I have to ask “why not?”

Those questions are much more revealing in my opinion. And they make me go deeper into my feelings. That’s a good exploration to make.

Look at yourself in the mirror tonight or tomorrow morning and ask yourself these questions. Then it might be an interesting topic of discussion with some very close friends. Just ask them about the concept, not the specific things
Then maybe you and your friend can practice holding opposing ideas – but don’t start with the heavy duty ones. That’s a recipe for disaster.
