Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: Read this a few times and then think about any time in your life when your ship stayed in the harbor.

I love this concept and I have been able to use it when thinking about whether or not I want to take a chance on something. It’s helped me gain the courage to swim out of the harbor beyond my comfort zone.

Do you know what you are built for? This could have to do with your career or something outside of your career – anything that gets your passion going. If you have a passion and excitement for something, then get your sails raised or your motor started and start getting out of the harbor.

It really does help to review things in your past. It will give you reference points and perhaps even help light your way out of the harbor.

I’ve printed this out and put it in several places in my home so that I see it several times a day.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: Sometimes it’s hard to see why we should go on given how things in our lives are. But we shouldn’t give up. I try to remember all the time “this, too, shall pass”. It seems the universe didn’t think I really believed that, though. So this past summer it provided me with three opportunities to experience that it is true. It’s just hard to remember it when we’re right in the middle of something. And of course, that’s exactly when we need to remember it.

The hard time I had during vol state was the first of the triad. And my legs would “empty out” and then refresh and then repeat the cycle. The interesting thing is that I’ve now realized that was a “part” (an IFS type part ) and that’s actually pretty special. But it’s also another topic.

Then I fractured my clavicle and had to adjust to being left handed and that then passed. Only to be followed by a 2 week period of difficulty eating following a procedure.

While in the middle of adversity you can’t seem to think about anything else but “is this ever going to end”. But you have to remember that yes it will pass and once you believe and embrace that, things get better faster than you know. It was your belief that helped it come about.

Beliefs are extremely powerful forces and when we’re conscientious, we can enjoy the belief and the result. We can also enjoy knowing that what will come is what’s supposed to come no matter how it looks.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: Once you become aware of your weaknesses, you have a starting place. For what? To reassess what you want to work on to bolster your strengths. You can always turn your weaknesses into strengths once they are out there on the table. Awareness is the first step in every single thing we do if we wish to change. Why? Because awareness takes everything out from the shadows. it’s hard to see something when it’s in the dark. Shining a light on your weaknesses gives you new tools. At that point you can also lay out your strengths next to the weaknesses and if you’re lucky, you have the entire puzzle ready for you to put together.

This may sound simplistic but I mean for it to help give you a visual image to help change your mental approach to problems. Putting a big jigsaw puzzle together can be overwhelming and so can some of your puzzles. But if you remember that when all the pieces are on the table with none remaining in the box or hidden on the floor, a smile might come to your face and then you can attack the job with joy and excitement.

You really have no weaknesses. They are just strengths in disguise.

Can you apply this to something in your life right now?
