Daily Gratitude

Part 1

This is a two part message. The second part will be tomorrow.

Daily Gratitude: There’s too much hate, unrest and chaos around us right now. So what can we do?

It may seem hopeless and as if there’s nothing you can do. But there is always something – you can always go inside and take inventory.

This morning I was “doing my thing” and realized how grateful I am for my mindless routines – you know- brushing my teeth, taking my meds, making my protein shake, turning on the lights, reading etc.

I found myself enjoying what I was paying attention to. And realized that is what life is about – we pay attention to some things and not to others.

Often our minds want us to pay attention to the external stuff as a distraction from dealing with or discovering what’s going on Inside of us.

That’s where we can do some good – inside.

Take some time to look around you no matter where you are.

What do you see? Now pretend you’re “enlarging” that picture.

Look at things individually.

If you’re in the car, look at the dashboard.

Depending on how old you are, think about things that are there that you didn’t used to have.

I told you I gave away my 2004 vehicle because I had the van I use for my races now.

The van is a 2020 model.

And although that’s almost 6 years old the fancy things in it that I didn’t have in my other vehicle just mesmerize me.

Sometimes I notice them and am in awe.

But I need to be thanking them for being in my life and making my life easier- after I get used to them of course but that’s a whole other story.

Sure they’re inanimate objects but they are energy.

So why not express gratitude for and to that energy.

Make a list of the wondrous things in your life.

For older people like me this is easy – once I make the effort to do it.

After all I can remember when we finally got a tv in our household.

Can’t get much older than that.

Focus on your gratitude and appreciation for these things.

And for the people that made them happen.

This is one time when it’s good to stay inside your world for awhile.

What things on that list do you really love?

Let them know that you love them.

I’ll continue with this tomorrow.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: Boy, is this the truth! When the universe wants you to learn a lesson, it doesn’t give up sending you the message until you get it. If you don’t get it the first way, you’ll get another message saying the same thing but in a different way.

I’ve told you all that happened to me in 2017 so I won’t bore you again. Suffice it to say, the universe was really aggravated at me. It had sent simple notes, then stronger messages, until finally it caused a volcanic eruption and put me in the hospital for 5 weeks and me almost dying. I got the message.

So if you keep running into the same types of problems, take some time to see if you can figure out what you’re supposed to be learning. You may need help either from friends or with professional help.

If your friends say something you don’t want to hear, stand back and look at those comments again. Maybe they are points that you’re supposed to hear.

Oh and you can’t get away with “return to sender”. You’ll keep getting it. Just listen up.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: Keep your new year going with this thought. You don’t have to do much – just show up. Once you do that, things will fall into place and you’ll figure out what to do next.

I believe this. Most of time it’s all I can do to just show up someplace. I work hard to get over the anxiety about all the limiting beliefs and thoughts I have. It’s like having a century’s worth of presidential debates in my head just to get my butt to the place I’m supposed to be.

I have gotten so much better at this in the last year or two so now I am a happy camper when I go someplace and don’t obsess over “to be or not to be (as in to be there or not to be there- ha ha)” or what will people think. You’d probably laugh if you knew how much I celebrate those wins. And all I had to do was just show up.

I need to do this with everything that comes up on my life. And you do too. When you come across a situation that creates this kind of fear, just break it down into getting to the “start line” so to speak.

If you still have trouble, remember me and laugh at seeing me in your mind debating whether to go some place or not.

Some people have the motto of “just do it”. For us it’s “just go” or “just show”.
