Daily Gratitude

Along the lines of our recent discussion of doing what you desire vice what others have convinced you to desire. Here’s another indication. Are you happy even when you “fail”? I was at the Ohio race. I was extremely happy even though I dropped out of the race very early. That told me that the things that I did accomplish which were not measurable in miles were things I wanted to do! I had the freedom to do the things I wanted. And since I liked meeting and being with all those people I was happy. Nothing can take that away from me. How does this apply to you?

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: How much more simple can a secret to life be? You hear people tell you to just do the best you can. Add to this the rest of the quote and that’s all you ever need to do. Life really is simple and i always wonder why we make it so much more complicated. Believe me i do my fair share of making mountains out of molehills. It takes so much energy and can be confusing too. I used to feel like the little girl in the exorcist because I was trying to make whomever I was around happy. How horrible was that for me? I can’t even tell you. I am merely glad I was able to get past that phase of my life. It was then that i realized I was making things too complicated. It still took me 40 more years to figure out how to make it simple. So it’s not easy. Just keep working at it.

Daily Gratitude

Daily Gratitude: We’ve seen this said in other ways over the past year of Daily Gratitudes but I love how this is worded. We are always trying to be something else. How often do we stop and ask why we are trying to do that? Is it something you love and want to do or is it something you’re “expected” to do. Expected by parents, siblings, spouse, relatives, peers, teachers, spiritual “leaders”, etc. if we don’t take some time and more than a few minutes to look deep inside we won’t know why we’re chasing what we’re after. If it’s not a personal desire, there may be “failures” in your history and even in your future. You can use that as a guide. Look at your “failures” and see how and why you were there in the first place. You can change your desires- your real desires. Go for what you want-what YOU really want
