Daily Gratitude: Ponder this quote for a bit. What does it say to you?
Can you identify with it? Are you living or just existing? Be honest with yourself. This is one of the most important and deepest questions you can (and should) ask yourself.
If you’re not living but just existing or if you’re not living as fully as you’d like, are you going to do something about it?
Can you write down in what parts of your life:
• You are fully living,
• You’re partially living and
• Those in which you’re just existing.
Take your time with this. It’s too important to hurry.
What can you do about the areas you’ve just identified and aren’t happy with?
Make a plan.
It should consist of tiny steps – small ways you can improve your feeling of living. They should be specific such as “I’m going to do x,y or z two times in the next two weeks”
Hopefully you’ll do that thing twice in two weeks. If not, though, don’t treat it like a New Year’s resolution and beat yourself up for not doing it.
Simply try again with something that you think you might enjoy doing. Experiment. You can’t be upset because an experiment didn’t give you the results you wanted. You got information from the experiment so as long as you make use of that info, you’ve made progress.
Maybe not condemning yourself and being a bit easier on your mind and body will make you feel better and perhaps even a tiny bit closer to living?
What do you think?
