Daily Gratitude: As we near the end of the year, it’s a good time to reflect on what happened in your life, how it happened (was it by chance or by change for instance), and what lessons you learned.
I probably mention this every year but I don’t think people take the time to do it. Why? Because the past is only fading deeper into the rear view mirror and as you get farther away from something, you generally only remember the highlights unless you take time to think about it.
I’ve finished my first review and now I will be going back to the list and take another look at how it happened. there are no accidents so everything that happened had an origin back even beyond the event. This will be fun. Why? Because I surprised myself already by noticing the categories everything on my list fell into.
I also know that when I can determine how they came about and what led up to them I can get a better idea of what I want to do more of and what I want to eliminate from my life.
This review of my past year will become the roadmap for the new year. That’s pretty special if you ask me.
