Daily Gratitude: it’s so easy to get hung up on the skills we don’t have. Then we repeat that the harder we try to overcompensate

This is not to say we shouldn’t continue to try to improve but there may be a point when you realize that “this” (whatever “this” is for you), is not something that’s doing to be your forte.

We all need to take an inventory of what we are good at, what we aren’t that great at, or what we really stink at.

We will have greater success if we then take the things we’re good at and concentrate on getting better at them.

Take leadership for example. You should concentrate on what you’re good at such as getting people on your staff motivated and wanting to do their best for you. But let’s say math or budgeting is not your strong point. You need to know the basics but you can delegate that job to someone who enjoys it and is good at it. Once you know enough to make sure you can oversee that persons work, then you can focus on your strengths.

That will decrease your stress and it will also help the others on your staff feel as if you recognize their talents and you trust them. There’s plenty of good that comes from that.

What are your strengths?
