Daily Gratitude: I imagine you’ve heard it said the the people who say they don’t have time to meditate are the ones who need to meditate the most. This is the same. It’s interesting that Even when we know something will help us (relaxation or meditation or playing), we find ways to avoid it – almost with a great fervor. It’s almost as if people go way beyond to be even busier so they don’t have to do these things. Does this apply to you? If so, have you asked yourself why? What is it we’re running from or hiding from? I would bet that there’s a fear of what we might find if we were to relax and be quiet for some time. What happens when all the noise dies down? Many people can’t handle that? What if the electricity AND the internet goes out and there’s no lights to read by (does anyone read anymore? I hope they do), no TV, no social media, nothing online. How any people panic because they don’t want to be alone with themselves? It’s time to practice relaxation so that your body (your nervous system and all organs) can stop being bombarded by stress chemicals and stop existing in a state of dysregulation. Otherwise illness will happen if it hasn’t already. And even if you don’t have noticeable symptoms yet, the disease changes have been occurring. You want to stop them now. It really can be easy to relax with just some practice. It’s like any skill. It takes time and practice but it’s definitely worth it.
